Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How is the Pantry different from other charitable organizations?

A. The Pantry is different from other food pantries in several aspects. First, the Pantry is open five days a week all year. Furthermore, the Pantry allows clients to shop for their own food, a completely unique approach. Finally, the Pantry has no paid staff and relies on volunteers to run it. The Pantry is also different from most charitable organizations in that it has absolutely no paid staff. Therefore, all money received goes either toward buying food or maintaining the space for the Pantry. See www.guidestar.org for more information about the Pantry.

Q. What will my donation do for the hungry in Holliston?

A. A donation of food will directly feed people in Holliston, often that very day. Volunteering allows the Pantry to keep operating on a day-to-day basis. A monetary donation goes fully towards supporting the Pantry's mission.

Q. How is the Pantry funded?

A. The Pantry relies entirely on private donations and receives no municipal, state, or federal support.
